7:00 AM Packet/Cap pickup / Day of Race Registration
7:55 AM Pre-race instruction – beach area
8:00 AM Start of 1 mile and 2 mile swims
8:05 AM Start of 1/2 mile and 1/4 mile swims
Packet Pick up and Day of Race Registration: There is day of race registration for an additional $10. Please bring I.D. to registration.
Caps/Packets: Colored swim caps are distributed according to distance. Make sure you receive the right color cap. Your swim cap will be marked with your race number. Please do not trade caps. Your race number will also be written on your hand.
Parking: Please obey all no-parking signs. Do not park in the boat loading area unless you have the proper permit for this lot.
Start: This is a beach start. All swimmers must start with one foot on the sand out of the water. The course is counterclockwise for all except the 1/4 mile which is out and back. The finish line is under the finish line arch located on the beach.
Warm up: You may warm up before the race in the water. You will be asked to exit for the the pre-race briefing 5 minutes prior to the start.
Bathrooms: There is an indoor bathhouse restroom facility on location.
Security: We have never had a problem with security of items left in the area during the swim. It is early and nobody except us swimmers are typically on location. We do have several staff in area “watching” the area. You are however ultimately responsible for your own items.
Safety: There are lifeguards staffed on the water throughout the swim for your safety. If you need assistance of any kind, please raise your arms, waive and shout and someone will assist you. You will not be disqualified if you need assistance to rest and then continue your swim.
Post Race: Stick around post race for food/drinks awards and some amazing prizes donated by our sponsor Sylvias Swimwear. All swimmers are eligible for prizes.
